Students enrolled in Pacific Flight Academy’s Professional Pilot Program who need tuition or financial assistance will now have access to an innovative new financing option to pay for their courses, thanks to our partnership with the Meritize platform.

LOAN SECURED AGAINST MERIT, ONLY SOFT CREDIT PULL
Unlike traditional lenders that rely solely on FICO scores, and other financial records to determine whether to lend to an individual. the Meritize platform considers the full depth of an individual’s academic or military achievements to enhance credit evaluation and potentially improve loan options. Meritize will request your merit information to finalize your application. This could be in the form of Academic Experience (Official or unofficial transcript or HSE certification) or Military Experience (DD214).

CO-BORROWER RECOMMENDED, BUT NOT REQUIRED
Because the new financing option considers previous academic or military experiences, merit-based financing may provide a significant source of financial and credit assistance for students who are self-financing their Pilot training.

FINANCE THE WHOLE PROGRAM
With Meritize you can finance the entire course, flight equipment, and all tests/checkrides, up to $88,000.

REASONABLE RATES
Rates depend on merit. No payments during training, and very low payments while working as a CFI.

GUARANTEED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR POSITION
Upon completion of the CFI certificate, graduates of our Professional Pilot Program are assured an instructor position. They have the opportunity to earn $40 per hour, while simultaneously gaining valuable flight experience that can be applied toward pursuing a career in the airlines. Our instructors often log over 80 flight hours per month.

Meritize is exclusively available to students who are enrolled in Pacific Flight Academy’s (PFA) Professional Pilot Program. Prospective students must first present a valid First Class FAA medical and successfully complete a Discovery Flight with a PFA Flight Instructor before Enrollment Verification can occur.

Funds are disbursed in three tranches. Disbursement #1, which covers approximately one-third of the total amount, is solely intended for the expenses related to the Private Pilot Certificate. The funds received from this disbursement are non-refundable. Disbursement #2, which also covers about one-third of the total amount, is intended for the expenses relate to the Instrument Rating. The student has the option to decline this disbursement if they choose to do so. However, funds received from this disbursement are non-refundable if the student chooses to pursue the next professional pilot rating. Disbursement #3 covers the expenses of all remaining ratings, including Commercial Certificate, Flight Instructor Certificates, and Multi-Engine Ratings. Any funds received from this disbursement are fully refundable. This program is not transferrable to another school. Refunds are subject to an administrative fee up to $2,500.
